Garmin Vector Officially Re-launched!

At 9pm (AEST) today, Garmin officially re-launched their much anticipated Vector Pedal - a high-precision pedal based power meter - designed for cyclists, by cyclists. Based on over five years of exclusive research, Vector is the lightest weight direct measurement power meter on the market. Vector allows for quick installation, portability, and ease-of-use. Taking only minutes to install, Vector provides accurate and reliable power data and uniquely measures and presents right and left leg power balance to ANT+ compatible head units.

The Garmin Vector was initially due for release in Christmas 2011, but was witheld by Garmin until now for further improvements. Many pre-orders have been placed by our customers since then as they patiently await this amazing product.

For strictly limited initial stock, Highly Tuned Athletes will be honouring the original price of $1,495 quoted by us in 2011. Once our initial stock has run out, the price is expected to increase to $1,699 due to currency re-valuation. Therefore it is extremely important to get your pre-orders in as soon as possible to avoid dissapointment.

Garmin–Potential issues with new Version 3 USB Mini Ant stick

Garmin have released the new very small Mini USB Ant stick, however we are seeing a few users have issues .

The inability to connect can be rectified using the following processes;

Newer Garmin Fitness devices that include the USB ANT Stick will now include the more compact ANT USB-m Stick. This smaller ANT Stick requires software drivers provided through Microsoft's Windows Update service1. The software drivers may fail to install if the Windows Update service has been disabled. This only affects Windows computers.

If the messages "Device driver software was not successfully installed" or "No driver found" appears after inserting the ANT USB-m Stick, enable the Windows Update service.

To enable the Windows Update service for Windows XP:

  1. Disconnect the ANT USB-m Stick
  2. Click Start
  3. Click Control Panel
  4. Double-click System
  5. Click Hardware
  6. Click Windows Update
  7. Select "If my device needs a driver, go to Windows Update without asking me"
  8. Click OK
  9. Click OK
  10. Reconnect the ANT USB-m Stick

To enable the Windows Update service for Windows Vista/7/8:

  1. Disconnect the ANT USB-m Stick
  2. Click Start
  3. Click Control Panel
  4. Click System
  5. Click Advanced System Settings
  6. Click Hardware
  7. Click Device Installation Settings
  8. Select "Yes, do this automatically"
    • Under the "No, let me choose what to do" option, the first two options are acceptable to allow the ANT USB-m Stick driver software to install properly. The third "Never" option will not fix the problem.
  9. Click Save Changes
  10. Reconnect the ANT USB-m Stick

The driver software will automatically install and allow the stick to be detected for the Garmin ANT Agent software.

1The Microsoft Windows Update service requires an active Internet connection
